8. Lonely Planet Tahiti & French Polynesia by Becca Blond, Celeste Brash, and Hilary Rogers: I really like Lonely Planet travel guides. They usually have good deals and are spot on with their reviews. We're thinking about going to Bora Bora for our honeymoon, so I got this to do a little research. It sealed the deal for Bora Bora out of all the islands of French Polynesia for me.
9. Jack of Fables Volume 1: The (Nearly) Great Escape by Bill Willingham, Matthew Sturges, Tony Akins, and Andrew Pepoy: Hilarious! Great artwork and good story. Jack is one of the more hilarious characters out of the Fables canon.
10. The Sandman Vol. 9: The Kindly Ones by Neil Gaiman, Marc Hempel, and Frank McConnell: The battle between the Fates and Morpheus. It was really interesting.
11. The Sandman Vol. 10: The Wake by Neil Gaiman, Michael Zulli, Jon J. Muth, and Charles Vess: The funeral for one of the Endless. It was a pretty good end to the series.
12. Hellboy Volume 1: Seed of Destruction by Mike Mignola and John Byrne: I was hesitant to read this because I thought that the movie was kind of corny. Comic Book Guy recommended it though knowing my taste. It's really good! There's history, Nazis, vampires, demons, and paranormal research.
13. Hellboy Volume 2: Wake the Devil by Mike Mignola: Hellboy and Hecate battle while Rasputin tries to reincarnate.
14. Aranzi Aronzo Cute Dolls (Let's Make Cute Stuff) by Aranzi Aronzo and Rui Munakata: He has a couple of books, but this one has the most patterns and the best instructions. It's super cute (as the title suggests)! I've already cut the fabric for two bunny dolls for the twins.
15. I Am America (And So Can You!) by Stephen Colbert: This book is hilarious, subversive, and ironic. It's almost worth it for the section on the White House Correspondence Dinner alone.

Date: 2008-03-05 07:06 am (UTC)We loved the BBN because (in addition to just being an amazing resort - they'd bring by trays or cookies and sorbet while you were sitting on the beach) the location. It is on its own little motu so you feel remote, but they have shuttles into the main town (Viatape) at least once an hour so you could go into town and visit the cheaper restaurants (and Le Roulettes) or pick up stuff from the grocery store. It was the best of both worlds. At the other hotels (on the other islands) we stayed at you couldn't really leave the hotel with out making arrangements.
