The next three books were in the Dark Materials trilogy. I thought that it was really interesting, but it was so weird. It was almost blasphemous, but intriguing.

36. The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman: Long but compelling. This took me a week to read, while the others were a day or so.

37. The Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman: I thought that it was the best one of the three.

38. The Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman: The longest, and maybe the most interesting but the ending was a let down.

39. Stardust by Neil Gaiman: Ohmigod. That's really all I can say about this book. It was so beautiful. It's first book I've read in a long time that really hit me. It's so dreamy and I really can't wait to read it again. One of my new favorites.

"Almost blasphemous?" I would say most definitely! I like to describe them to people as a sort of atheist The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

You're right, it was actually totally blasphemous. I was telling my friend that I felt like I should go to confession after reading it, and I'm not even Catholic!

Can I borrow Stardust? Oh, and I found freakonomics, so I can give that back next time I see you.
