11. The Penultimate Pit (A Series of Unfortunate Events Book 12) by Lemony Snicket: Pretty good. It’s the longest of the series and the next to last book. I admit, it’s for little kids. I think it’s written in a funny adult way with jokes for adults too. But I am a little sick of it, I just want to get through the whole series.

12. and 13. Ranma 1/2 vol.1 and vol. 2 by Rumiko Takahashi: Hilarious. About a teenaged boy named Ranma Satome. Him and his father were training in China and fell into some cursed springs. They change forms when they are touched by cold water (Ranma becomes a girl and his father becomes a panda) and they change back when touched by hot water. He’s betrothed to his father’s friend’s daughter and hilarity ensues. She’s a tough tomboy that all the guys in school are crazy for.

14. The Rose And The Beast: Fairy Tales Retold by Francesca Lia Block: Interesting. I really like the genre of folklore, fairytales, and retelling of the classics. Written in classic FLB fashion, it’s sparse and wispy with a mixture of the present Los Angeles and the old world fairytale lands. She has very distinct style, and I am torn between liking it and despising it.

15. Battle Royale vol.1 by Koushun Takami & Masauki Taguchi: Whoa. It was shrink wrapped so I couldn’t see it before I bought it. I liked the movie, but this has more graphic sex and violence. It was okay, but I won’t be reading the other 14 volumes.
