what i read so far . . .
Feb. 13th, 2009 01:43 pm1. Women's Health Daily Fix: Your Guide to Healthy Habits for Good Nutrition by Alexa L Fishback: I really liked this book. It has real life nutrition tips built around a working woman's schedule. It also has a good chapter on traveling and business lunches/dinners. It has tips that I can actually find myself using.
2. How to Cook Everything by Mark Bittman: The new version! It's missing the chapter on drinks that was in the older version, but I don't mind. I really like it. It actually does have recipes on how to cook everything.
3. Cooking with Curtis by Curtis Stone: I got this as a wedding gift. Nice pictures but the food is too over the top for actual everyday cooking.
4. 500 Essential Graphic Novels: The Essential Guide by Gene Kannenberg Jr.: Great guidebook! I needed recommendation for new stuff to read so this was a great resource.
5. Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day By Jeff Herzberg and Zoe Francois: I can't wait to try some of these out. There's bunch of different recipes. It's basically no-knead bread that you store in the fridge, and rip a hunk off and cook each day.
6. In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto by Michael Pollen: What can I say? I would read an ingredient list written by Michael Pollen. What it comes down to is: Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants.
7. Crossing Midnight by Mike Carey, Jim Fern, and Jose Villarrubia: Interesting comic set in modern Japan about a set of twins with powers. It had a short run, but I am looking forward to reading the rest.
