10. The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook by Deb Perelman: I love the blog and the book was great. Beautiful pictures! There are little stories before each recipe that were nice and didn't distract from the cooking.
11. Fresh Off the Boat: A Memoir by Eddie Huang: Best book I've read this year. I don't usually read a lot of memoirs but this one really hit home. I've eat at baohaus (yum) and was intrigued by the Huang's story. He's an American born Taiwanese child of immigrants that just didn't fit into the typical Asian stereotypes. I felt a connection because I also grew up feeling disconnected to Asians and Americans. You can never fit into either world, so you make your own world with other misfit Asians. Very crass, full of bad words and slang, and I loved it.
12. Thinking in Systems: A Primer by Donella Meadows: I had to read it for class. Interesting way to look at how everything is interconnected in systems.
13. Takedown Twenty: Stephanie Plum Series, Book 20 by Janet Evanovich: Stephanie is trying to bring in Joe's godfather, thinking of becoming a butcher, and there's a murderer and giraffe on the loose.
